Howard's Powers

Howard Consulting Group, a D.C.-based public affairs and communications firm, has promoted two of its own: John Marchant, who will serve as managing director of public affairs, and Erica Hiar, now an associate. Marchant worked as Wisconsin state field director for the 2004 Democratic campaign organization America Coming Together. Hiar worked for the 2008 Obama campaign in Michigan and North Carolina. Howard Consulting Group is headed by Frank Howard Jr., a former Republican National Committee staffer who worked on a number of presidential campaigns. The firm's Washington office also includes Erin Thurston, a former aide to Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Wash. and Erin Oldfield, formerly with Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa, and Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.

John Marchant is the new managing director of public affairs for Howard Consulting Group.
Marchant has been with the firm since 2007, overseeing the public affairs team and grassroots advocacy programs.
Erica Hiar has also been promoted to associate for the group.

John Marchant has been promoted to managing director of public affairs at Howard Consulting Group Inc. He was senior director of public affairs. Previously, Marchant was a project manager for Saint Consulting Group.
Erica Hiar has been promoted to associate at Howard Consulting Group. She has been serving as project associate. Hiar organized voter contact for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and ran offices in Michigan and North Carolina.

Erica Hiar has joined Howard Consulting Group as a project associate. She worked on Obama's presidential campaign in Michigan and North Carolina.
Erin Oldfield has joined the firm as a communications associate. Oldfield was a legislative correspondent and press assistant for Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa. Before that, she was a staff assistant for Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash.
Erin Thurston has joined Howard Consulting Group as an associate. Thurston was a legislative correspondent for Rep. Jay Inslee, D-Wash.
Brynnan Wammack also has joined the firm as an associate. She worked at the Department of Health and Human Services in the Office of the White House Liaison and National Outreach, where she served as deputy director of national outreach.

Even in this economy some firms are hiring…Howard Consulting Group has added four new staff: Erica Hiar, an organizer on President Obama's campaign; Erin Oldfield from Rep. Loebsack's office (D-Iowa); Erin Thurstonfrom Rep. Inslee's office (D-Wash.) and Brynnan Wammack, who worked for the surgeon general under President Bush 43. Oldfield and Thurston will be working in communications with Managing Director Dan Ronayne and Hiar and Wammack focus on public affairs with Senior Director John Marchant. Hiar joins as a project associate specializing in grassroots mobilization, third party outreach and coalition-building. She is a former organizer for President Obama's campaign in 2008 and ran offices in Michigan and North Carolina. Oldfield will focus on media relations and writing. She was previously an advisor for Rep. Dave Loebsack (D Iowa) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) on science and technology issues. Thurston joined the group as an associate. She previously worked for Rep. Jay Inslee (D-Wash). Wammack will provide grassroots advocacy, third party outreach and coalition building for clients' healthcare and health innovation initiatives. She previously worked in the office of the White House Liaison and served as deputy director of national outreach and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
