Strategy and Tactics
To generate awareness and build the Immunomic brand story, HCG developed and implemented a comprehensive media strategy that included:
- Highlighting Immunomic's achievement in developing the LAMP-Vax technology and successfully executing a $315M deal with a major pharmaceutical company in traditional media, including the Baltimore Sun and Reuters
- Creating and executing a high-profile event at Johns Hopkins University to celebrate the LAMP technology platform's journey from Johns Hopkins to Immunomic to Astellas. The event featured Tom August, MD, Distinguished Service Professor of Pharmacology and Molecular Sciences and Oncology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, who developed the game-changing vaccine technology; Brian Stansky, FastForward Director, Johns Hopkins University; Ben Wu, Deputy Secretary, Maryland Department of Commerce (DoC) and Drew Pardoll, M.D., Ph.D., Co-Director, Cancer Immunology and Hematopoiesis Program, as well as Johns Hopkins community members
- Builing Maryland thought-leaders' excitement and interest in Immunomic achievements and cancer immunology through promotion and participation in state events
- Cultivating Immunomic as a regional leader by promoting executive profiles, booking key speaking opportunities and expanding social media reach
All components of our strategy were executed with great success. Our holistic press strategy created significant coverage for Immunomic's announcement of a licensing agreement with Astellas, garnering more than 30 million views. Immunomic's social media reach was expanded, increasing followers by 29%. Increased visibility of Immunomic in the life sciences industry was accomplished through Immunomic's participation in an Industry Impact video featured at pharmaceutical industry events and a feature from Maryland Tech Council highlighting innovators in the region. Immunomic emerged as a regional, industry thought-leader, demonstrated by Immunomic's participation in a panel at the Washington Post.
